Terms of Service

Calculate Token counts tokens in text and estimates what that text would cost across several language models. It is provided free of charge, as is.

This matters more than anything else here, so it is stated first and plainly.

• GPT counts are computed with the same tokenizers OpenAI publishes and should match. Claude counts are exact when Anthropic’s API is reachable, and a rough character-based estimate when it is not — rows are marked est when that happens.
• Costs are derived from published list prices at the time they were entered. Providers change prices, run promotions, and bill long-context requests at higher rates. Figures here can be out of date.
• A real invoice also reflects system prompts, tool definitions, cached input, retries, and output you have not written yet. None of that is visible from a block of text.

Do not use these figures as the sole basis for a budget, a bid, or a contract. Verify against your provider’s own pricing and your own billing dashboard.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for what happens under your account. Give an email address you actually control — password resets go there, and there is no other way to recover access.

You can delete your account at any time from account settings. Doing so removes your saved work along with it.

Do not:

• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, or automate the AI rewrite at a volume it was not built for. Those routes spend money upstream on every call.
• Upload content you do not have the right to, or that is unlawful.
• Attempt to access another user’s data, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without telling us. Reporting one in good faith is welcome — get in touch.

What you paste stays yours. Storing it, and sending it to the providers named in the privacy policy, is done solely to give you the result you asked for. It is not used to train anything and is not sold.

If you publish a share link, you are choosing to make that calculation available to whoever has the link — and, if you mark it public, to search engines.

There is no uptime guarantee. Features degrade rather than break when a provider is unavailable — an unreachable Claude API produces an estimate instead of an error — but the service may be interrupted or discontinued.

The service is provided without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of it — including decisions made on the basis of a cost estimate that turned out to be wrong.

These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
